PAPER TRAINING
One of the first things you will want to do is paper train the dog. Select a spot on the floor near his sleeping area or "crate", where a layer of newspaper will be available at all times. Whenever you notice that the pup is getting ready to go, place him on the paper immediately. Praise him when he is finished. Young pups usually have a bowel movement or urinate shortly after eating or drinking and should be watched closely during this period. The more frequently you are able to get the pup to "go" on the paper, the sooner he will become accustomed to going there of his own accord. |
